什曰：勇，明其有力。上說意淨，此說有力。淨而有力，故大願果成也。肇曰：生死長久、苦毒無量，自非智勇，孰能處之？

[Kumāra]jīva says: 'Courage' clarifies that they have strength. Above, it spoke of purity of intent; here, it speaks of possessing strength. Being pure and strong, the great vow is successfully realized. [Seng]zhao says: Saṃsāra is long and its bitter poisons are boundless; if not for wisdom and courage, who could dwell in it?
