肇曰：無像不像，故不可為一。像而不像，故不可為異。生曰：等者，兩共等也。兩共等者，不一不異也。

[Seng]zhao says: Having neither image nor non-image, he cannot be considered single. Being an image yet not an image, he cannot be considered different. [Dao]sheng says: "Equal" means that the two are equal together. That the two are equal together means neither single nor different.
