肇曰。在淨而淨，誰謂之穢？在穢而穢，誰謂之淨？然則為強弱淨穢者，果非強弱淨穢之所為也。生曰：相好嚴身非其淨也，金槍馬麥亦非穢也。

[Seng]zhao says: Being pure in purity, who could call it defiled? Being defiled in defilement, who could call it pure? Thus, that which acts as strong, weak, pure, and defiled is truly not the doing of strength, weakness, purity, or defilement. [Dao]sheng says: Adorning the body with the marks and signs is not its purity; the golden lance and horse barley are likewise not defilement.
