生曰：以六度為體，故能有如向之應耳。而度有度者，則不度也。無度不度，然後度耳。

[Dao]sheng says: Having the six pāramitās as substance, it can therefore have the responses mentioned above. But if one takes pāramitā as having a pāramitā, then it is not pāramitā. Only when there is neither pāramitā nor non-pāramitā is it pāramitā.
