[Kumāra]jīva says: Above, the profound sūtras were praised; now it begins to clarify accepting, upholding, and proclaiming them, which is practicing the offering of the Dharma. [Seng]zhao says: Sūtras such as these fully embody the dharmakāya of all buddhas. If upon hearing these sūtras one can faithfully understand, protect, uphold, proclaim, and analyze them, causing the great Dharma to increase and expand, this is called an offering of the Dharma, which nurtures and accomplishes the dharmakāya. [Dao]sheng says: Because accepting, upholding, reading, and reciting them constitutes the meaning of protecting and preserving, it is called an offering of the Dharma.
