[Kumāra]jīva says: If wisdom is different from emptiness, that is discrimination; although there is discrimination, its nature is also empty.
[Seng]zhao says: What was spoken of earlier merely had discrimination within non-discrimination. If one can non-intentionally discriminate yet discriminate within non-discrimination, though one discriminates all day long, one has never discriminated. Therefore it is said: Discrimination is also empty.
[Dao]sheng says: In speaking of emptiness, the characteristic of emptiness is also empty. If the characteristic of emptiness were not empty, emptiness would be existence. Once emptiness were existence, how could existence be non-existence? Thus, all would exist and not be empty; therefore, discrimination is also empty, and only then is it empty.
