[Seng]zhao says: An illusionist contemplates an illusion, knowing it is not real. The mahāsattva contemplates sentient beings in just the same way. [Dao]sheng says: It is not that there is no illusory person; it is simply that there is no real person. Since there is no real person, through this one awakens to the fact that the illusory person is also without reality. If an illusory person is unreal, how could sentient beings alone be real?
