[Kumāra]jīva says: 'Practice' is one's own practice. Taking the seven riches as the basis, one also benefits both self and others; furthermore, dedicating this merit toward the buddha-path, the seven riches increase even more, which constitutes the greatness of the profit.
[Seng]zhao says: The seven riches are faith, morality, learning, relinquishment, wisdom, shame, and conscience. Worldly people consider jades and silks to be abundance; the bodhisattva considers the seven riches to be wealth. Sharing the Dharma jewel with others in common profit, they also show them the method of multiplying interest, causing them to practice as preached and dedicate [merit] toward the buddha-path—this is the greatest of profits.
[Dao]sheng says: Practicing as preached both reaps external benefits and easily acquires the great jewel; therefore it is the great profit.
