From here below, the second part analyzes the "whence" in terms of the person and explains the "coming" with reference to the person. "If a bodhisattva complies with the pāramitās" corresponds to self-benefit above. "Teaching and transforming sentient beings" corresponds to benefiting others above. "Everything that is done" accords with the Dharma to generate practice. "Lifting a foot and placing a foot down" advances and stops in accord with the Dharma. Some say: emerging from contemplation is called lifting a foot, and entering quiescence is placing a foot down. This explanation is not deep; we now discuss it correctly. Even the physical body's lifting a foot and placing a foot down all coming from the bodhimaṇḍa and dwelling in the Buddha Dharma—only then is it called deep. "Coming from the bodhimaṇḍa" clarifies where he comes from; "dwelling in the Buddha Dharma" reveals where he arrives. The above was the intention of the teaching. From "When he spoke this Dharma" below, it clarifies the benefit of the teaching: first the declination, next the explanation, and from "Therefore I" below, the conclusion.
