第四、明總別者，就前五條，束為三意：初，但標人、法，此即是總；次，開體、宗、用，此即是別；後，明教相，義兼總別。

Fourth, as for clarifying the general and the specific: regarding the preceding five items, they are subsumed into three meanings. First, merely presenting the person and Dharma: this is the general. Next, opening into substance, central theme, and function: this is the specific. Finally, clarifying the characteristics of the teaching: its meaning combines both the general and the specific.
