1.82

若從正因緣以入空，若析、若體兩種觀心，必須識「為人便宜」。「便宜」者，若宜修觀，即念擇、精進、喜三覺分起；若宜修止，則念除、捨、定三覺分攝也，是則隨所便宜，善心則發也。

If one enters emptiness from correct causes and conditions, whether through the two kinds of contemplating the mind—analytical or embodied—one must recognize 'what is suitable for the person'. As for 'suitability': if it is suitable to cultivate contemplation, then one brings to mind the three factors of awakening—investigation of dharmas, energy, and joy—to arouse them; if it is suitable to cultivate calming, then one brings to mind the three factors of awakening—tranquility, equanimity, and concentration—to gather them in. Thus, in accordance with what is suitable, the wholesome mind is brought forth.
