答曰：前觀雖照二諦，破用不等；次觀亦照二諦，破用平等，既不見中道，但是異時平等也；第三觀者，得見中道，雙照二諦，即是一時平等也。

Answer: Although the previous contemplation illuminates the two truths, its refutation and application are unequal. The next contemplation also illuminates the two truths, and its refutation and application are equal; yet since it does not perceive the middle way, it is merely equality at different times. As for the third contemplation, it attains the vision of the middle way and simultaneously illuminates the two truths; this is equality at one and the same time.
