3.147

乾慧地，即是三乘初心，通名乾慧地也。此是三賢之位：一，五停心；二，別相念處；三，總相念處。此三通名外凡乾慧地也。

The ground of dry wisdom: this is the initial mind of the three vehicles, commonly called the ground of dry wisdom. These are the stages of the three worthies: first, the five methods of stilling the mind; second, distinct-characteristic mindfulness; third, general-characteristic mindfulness. These three are collectively called the ground of dry wisdom of the external ordinary persons.
