第四、通約教分別本迹者，即為四意：一，約圓教分別本迹；二，約別教分別本迹；三，約通教分別本迹；四，約三藏教分別本迹。

Fourth, comprehensively distinguishing origin and trace in terms of the teachings comprises four meanings: 1. Distinguishing origin and trace in terms of the perfect teaching; 2. Distinguishing origin and trace in terms of the distinctive teaching; 3. Distinguishing origin and trace in terms of the shared teaching; 4. Distinguishing origin and trace in terms of the Tripiṭaka teaching.
