4.121

一、通室外者，室外現長者之形，寄四教以顯本迹；或用三藏通教本迹，入空開化國王、長者；或用通、別、圓本迹之教，折挫十大弟子、五百羅漢；或但用圓教顯本，彈訶稟三教菩薩等。

First, applying to what is outside the room: outside the room he manifests the form of an elder, relying on the four teachings to reveal origin and trace; or he uses the origin and trace of the Tripiṭaka and shared teachings, entering emptiness to transform kings and elders; or he uses the teachings of origin and trace of the shared, distinctive, and perfect teachings to humble and break down the ten great disciples and five hundred arhats; or he uses only the perfect teaching to reveal the origin, reprimanding the bodhisattvas who have received the three teachings.
