答曰：通教不見惑相，名為不斷，而實是斷。如明時實自無暗，不同有芥子之小不妨須彌之大也。

Answer: The shared teaching does not perceive the marks of delusion and calls this 'non-severance,' but in reality it is severance. It is like when it is light, there is genuinely no darkness of itself; this is not like having the smallness of a mustard seed without hindering the largeness of Mount Sumeru.
