First, clarifying the elimination of the false and the revelation of the true: The real principle is subtle and profound, and the true and false are difficult to distinguish; yet whatever ordinary persons practice, whether teachings or actions, they each invariably consider their own to be true. Therefore, students who investigate this must rely on their own intellectual power to scrutinize the true and the false. In this regard, there are two points: first, eliminating what is not the true mark; second, revealing the correct true mark.
