答曰：若是《法華經》「正直捨方便」，可得但用圓教一真諦為體。此經猶帶通、別二種方便，理內三種真諦皆得為此經體也。但有傍、正，不思議真諦為正也。

Answer: If it were the Lotus Sūtra's "honestly discarding expedient means," it would be possible to use only the one ultimate truth of the perfect teaching as the substance. This sūtra still carries the two kinds of expedient means, the shared and the distinctive; hence all three kinds of ultimate truths internal to principle can serve as the substance of this sūtra. But there are secondary and primary: the inconceivable ultimate truth is the primary.
