6.67

第三、明用四悉檀起四門之教者，若外道四門，皆不見根緣，執心取相定說，如舊醫常用乳藥治一切病，此不依四悉檀而起四門也。今佛法四門，皆因四悉檀而起也。一，明悉檀起三藏教四門；二，明悉檀起通教四門；三，明悉檀起別教四門；四，明悉檀起圓教四門。

Third, explaining the use of the four siddhāntas to generate the teachings of the four doors: the four doors of the non-Buddhists do not perceive faculties and conditions, but adhere to mental grasping and fixated assertions of characteristics, like an old physician who always uses milk medicine to treat all illnesses; these do not generate the four doors by relying on the four siddhāntas. Now, the four doors of the Buddha-Dharma are all generated due to the four siddhāntas: first, explaining the siddhāntas generating the four doors of the Tripiṭaka teaching; second, explaining the siddhāntas generating the four doors of the shared teaching; third, explaining the siddhāntas generating the four doors of the distinctive teaching; fourth, explaining the siddhāntas generating the four doors of the perfect teaching.
