Sixth, regarding contemplation of the mind: if Hīnayāna practitioners observing the precepts and practicing dhyāna give rise to the liberations, the bases of mastery, and all the dharma-doors, but do not obtain the seal of impermanence, non-self, and quiescence, entering into this contemplation will completely result in perverse inversions, and they will be unable to awaken to the principle and achieve the outflow-free; the Mahāyāna methods of contemplation are also like this: if one does not obtain the seal of the true mark of dharma-nature, one will mostly accomplish Māra's deeds and fall into the two extremes; how could one enter the non-dual dharma-door and abide in inconceivable liberation!
