問：如《楞伽》明三種意生，悉是十地應生報土。那云有餘？答：約別十地判三意生，即生報土。約通十地判，正與向解三教菩薩界內惑盡則同生有餘意同。若實報、寂光，破無明顯法身，則應生有餘。

Question: As the Laṅkāvatāra explains the three kinds of mind-made bodies, they all pertain to the ten grounds and should be born in the retribution land. Why say [the land] with remainder? Answer: If judging the three mind-made bodies in terms of the ten grounds of the separate [teaching], they are born in the retribution land. If judging in terms of the ten grounds of the shared [teaching], it agrees precisely with the explanation above that when bodhisattvas of the three teachings exhaust delusions within the realms, they are born together in [the land] with remainder. If, in true retribution and Silent Light, they shatter fundamental ignorance and manifest the dharmakāya, then they should be born in [the land with] remainder.
