問：《法華》中佛自解說，其義可然。今此城園，佛不解釋，何得師心對法門耶？答：若佛不釋不得厝意者，一切經文何曾併是佛自解釋？若各師心，豈皆有失？

Question: In the Lotus Sūtra, the Buddha explained it himself, so that meaning is acceptable. But here regarding this city and grove, the Buddha did not explain them; how can one rely on one's own subjective mind to correlate them with Dharma gates? Answer: If one cannot apply one's mind whenever the Buddha does not explain, are all sūtra passages entirely explained by the Buddha himself? If people each follow their own minds, could they all be in error?
