「與大比丘眾八千人俱」，此下第六辨同聞眾。此證阿難與諸聲聞、菩薩、天龍八部、四眾共聞，豈謬傳也。就此為三：一聲聞眾、二菩薩眾、三雜眾。

"Together with a great assembly of eight thousand bhikṣus": from here down is the sixth [section], distinguishing the assembly of co-listeners. This verifies that Ānanda heard it together with the śrāvakas, bodhisattvas, the eight classes of devas and nāgas, and the four assemblies; how could it be an erroneous transmission? In this there are three parts: first, the śrāvaka assembly; second, the bodhisattva assembly; third, the miscellaneous assembly.
