10.57

第七、身子稱歎，為六：一佛問見不、二奉答唯然、三為一切眾生發願、四自蒙有寄、五歎聞經功德、六況出福深。就況出中，約六番往釋，如文。若依此語意，即是流通段。今明身子小乘之人，非是任持大典，故不屬流通，但為流通作於起發也。

Seventh, Śāriputra's praising and extolling, which has six parts: first, the Buddha's asking whether he has seen it or not; second, his respectfully answering 'Indeed'; third, making vows on behalf of all sentient beings; fourth, himself being sustained with hope; fifth, praising the merit of hearing the sūtra; sixth, showing by comparison the profound depth of the blessings. Within showing by comparison, it is explained through six successive steps, as in the text. If one follows the purport of these words, this would belong to the dissemination section. Now it is explained that Śāriputra is a person of the Hinayāna and not one who upholds the great scripture; therefore, it does not belong to the dissemination [section], but merely serves as an instigation for dissemination.
