First, "Maitreya said to the Buddha" directly clarifies receiving the command and accepting the instruction. Within this there are three parts: first, Maitreya receives the instruction; second, the bodhisattvas receive the instruction; third, the Four Kings receive the instruction. The first has two parts: first, receiving the instruction; second, corroboration. The first part also has two: first, receiving the instruction of admonition; second, receiving the instruction of encouragement. From "having upheld the Tathāgata for countless kalpas" onward is receiving the instruction of encouragement. Within this there are two parts, corresponding to the two above: first, receiving the instruction to disseminate the sūtra; second, receiving the instruction to protect and uphold with supernatural power. Here it says itself: "give them mindfulness power and establish them." If relying on the comfortable practices, when there is preaching of the Dharma, [the Buddha] invisibly benefits their mindfulness power. It is also like when a person preaches the Dharma, their deliberation only reaches one or two points; yet when arriving at the time of preaching, they immediately see three to five sections of meaning. Perhaps the mind enters the doctrinal approach and is able to recognize it clearly, or perhaps [the Buddha] invisibly aids their mindfulness and confers blessing upon that person. Second, the Buddha corroborates. Second, the bodhisattvas receive the instruction and make vows. Third, the Four Heavenly Kings receive the instruction and make vows.
