本云此略疏十卷，依無古點。山門竹林房盛憲僧正，自江戶新本被送越之間，貴命因難辭。自去春二月初，至于當月十四日，點朱終功畢。問疾品已前本經無之，故諳令推量本經文句，分文若相違之處，後賢本經見合可校之。即課當山例講眾之初學點朱寫留，但忽卒至于武州，江戶遣之，故不能校合。朦氣多疾凌之，令點之，故謬錯有之乎。又第八卷之內，前後錯亂之處，質之押紙，付文二丁在之，後見可細尋之。

The original note states: Because these ten fascicles of the abridged commentary lacked ancient punctuation marks, and Sōjō Jōken of the Chikurin-bō at Sanmon sent over a newly printed edition from Edo, it was difficult to decline his esteemed command. From the beginning of the second month of last spring until the fourteenth day of this month, the task of red punctuation was completed. Prior to the 'Inquiring after the Illness Chapter,' the base scripture was missing; therefore, I recited and inferred the lines of the base scripture. Where the segmentation of the text might diverge, later worthy scholars should compare it with the base scripture and collate it. I then tasked the beginners among the regular lecturing assembly on this mountain to copy down the red punctuation and preserve it; however, since it had to be dispatched in haste to Musashi Province, Edo, it could not be collated. Clouded vision and frequent ailments beset me as I carried out the punctuation, so there may well be errors. Furthermore, within the eighth fascicle, where the sequence is disordered, slips of paper were affixed to question it, and attached text occupies two folios; those who look at it later may investigate it closely.
