「一切大眾歎未曾有」者，非但說聲聞經時之所未見，前說諸方等多顯正報，顯依報淨土未如今也。「而皆自見坐寶蓮華」者，表此大眾悉有生淨土之理，或復當生。

"The entire great assembly sighed at what had never been seen before": Not only had they not seen it when the śrāvaka sūtras were expounded, but earlier, when the various vaipulya [sūtras] were expounded, they mostly revealed the direct retribution; revealing the circumstantial retribution of the pure land was never like this. "And each saw themselves seated on a jeweled lotus flower": This indicates that all of this great assembly possess the principle for being born in a pure land, or that they will be born there in the future.
