「譬如」下，二、譬說。文為二：開譬、合譬。初開譬者，寶器譬寂光，飯異譬三土。三土之報不出寂光，依於寂光見不同也。

From "Just as" onward is the second part, the expounding through simile. The text has two parts: introducing the simile, and applying the simile. First, introducing the simile: the jeweled vessel is a simile for Quiescent Light; the different rice is a simile for the three lands. The retributions of the three lands do not fall outside Quiescent Light; depending on Quiescent Light, what is seen is not the same.
