「佛攝至意解」，次明復穢已，悟無常得小乘道。初見穢為淨，穢是無常；復淨還穢，謂淨無常。無常迅速，故得法眼淨，見生滅四諦之法分明，小乘法眼在見道位，非大乘法眼也。「八千不受」者，證無學道，不受三界虛妄生死法也。故知此經猶帶拙度之說，意在此也。

"The Buddha withdrew... up to ...minds were liberated": Next, it clarifies that after restoring the impurity, they awakened to impermanence and attained the path of the Small Vehicle. First seeing the impure become pure, impurity is impermanent; restoring the pure back to the impure, purity is seen as impermanent. Impermanence is swift, and therefore they attained the purity of the Dharma-eye, seeing clearly the teaching of the four truths of arising and ceasing; the Dharma-eye of the Small Vehicle is at the stage of the path of seeing, not the Dharma-eye of the Great Vehicle. "Eight thousand did not accept": They realized the path of the non-learner, no longer accepting the false, deceptive dharmas of birth and death in the three realms. Thus we know that this sūtra still carries teachings of the clumsy deliverance; the intent lies in this.
