2.98

「諦聽至汝說」，二、誡聽誡念。聽者生三慧善故，諦聽生聞慧、善思生思慧、念之生修慧。若雖聞不聽，無受潤因；聽而不思，無染旨趣；思而不修，終無證理。三慧若備，入道不疑。

From "Listen attentively... up to ...I will explain for you" is the second part, admonishing them to listen and admonishing them to reflect. Because listening gives rise to the good roots of the three wisdoms: attentive listening gives rise to the wisdom gained through hearing, proper reflection gives rise to the wisdom gained through reflection, and recollecting it gives rise to the wisdom gained through cultivation. If one hears without listening, there is no cause for receiving nourishment; if one listens without reflecting, one does not absorb the essential purport; if one reflects without cultivating, one will ultimately never realize the principle. If the three wisdoms are complete, entry into the Way is without doubt.
