3.52

「若在大臣，大臣中尊，教以正法」，國之大臣各有所掌，或有不明。淨名迹同，示以明達，故為所尊。治道正法依四根性，乃至引入四土。

"When among ministers of state, he was honored among ministers of state, teaching them the right Dharma": the ministers of a state each have their duties, and some may lack clarity. Vimalakīrti's trace was identical to them, showing clarity and understanding; therefore he was honored by them. Teaching the right Dharma of governing according to the four capacities, he even led them into the four lands.
