4.18

六、明生果報土者，十大弟子用此十門助嚴雙樹，若所化眾生成就四枯入無餘時生有餘土，是人根鈍以於佛道紆迴。今對淨名轉入四榮，若至《法華》開佛知見得無生忍，捨報即生果報淨土，為盧舍那眷屬，唯聞圓教，心心寂滅自然流入。

Sixth, explaining rebirth in the retribution land: The ten great disciples used these ten gates to assist in adorning the twin trees. If the sentient beings they transformed accomplish the four withered [trees] and enter [the nirvāṇa of] no-remainder, they are born into the land of remainder; these people have dull faculties and their approach to the Buddha Way is circuitous. Now, confronted by Vimalakīrti, they turn and enter the four flourishing [trees]. If they reach the *Lotus Sūtra*, open the Buddha's knowledge and vision, and attain the tolerance of non-arising, then upon casting off their retribution bodies they are born in the pure land of retribution, become the retinue of Rocana, hear only the perfect teaching, and with every thought quiescent, they naturally flow into it.
