Question: If one refutes the mind's fault in terms of the four noble truths, one should first refute in relation to suffering; why is it refuted in relation to cessation? Answer: Kāśyapa had realized nirvāṇa with residue, yet his mind in begging for food was faulty, hence it is first done in terms of cessation. Next, it refutes what his mind originally aligned with in the past, whereas his present actions and results contradict that mind; therefore, it is refuted in terms of the remaining three truths.
