4.88

「時我至支佛行」，三、諮述往昔聞此彈呵敬揖之懷也。迦葉聞淨名種種彈斥示真食法，既昔所不聞，故於菩薩咸起敬心。自惟無此，內心揖伏四枯之化，即是顯發如來四榮之教。

From "At that time, I … up to pratyekabuddha practice" is the third [section], recounting in consultation his past feelings of veneration and submission upon hearing this rebuke. When Kāśyapa heard Vimalakīrti's various rebukes and his showing of the method of true eating, since it was something he had not heard in the past, he gave rise to a mind of veneration toward the bodhisattva in every respect. Reflecting that he himself lacked this, his mind inwardly submitted to the teaching of the four withering [trees], which is precisely the manifestation of the Tathāgata's teaching of the four blooming [trees].
