問：淨名但呵彌勒，何以得知寄意斥三？答：上文云「為兜率天王說不退轉之行」，次下云「實無發三菩提心亦無退者」，不退轉位即是入無生正位，真受記之位也。

Question: Vimalakīrti only rebuked Maitreya; how do we know he indirectly intended to reprimand the three? Answer: The preceding text says, 'He expounded the practice of non-retrogression for the king of the Tuṣita Heaven,' and right below it says, 'In reality there is neither generating the aspiration for sambodhi nor any who retrogress.' The rank of non-retrogression is precisely entering the correct status of unproducedness, the rank of genuine reception of prophecy.
