5.39

「阿那律」下，二奉辭不堪。文為四：一奉辭不堪、二述不堪之由、三正述被彈之事、四結成不堪。初文者，良以往昔梵問天眼，即答所得，致被彈呵，莫知所酬，豈堪傳旨往問疾也。

From "Aniruddha" down: second, respectfully declining as incompetent. The text has four parts: first, respectfully declining as incompetent; second, explaining the reason for his incompetence; third, directly narrating the event of being rebuked; fourth, concluding his incompetence. As for the first part: it was truly because in the past, when a Brahmā king asked about the divine eye, he answered according to what he had attained, which led to his being rebuked so that he did not know how to respond. How could he be competent to convey the command and go inquire after his illness?
