問：龍樹學者何以用天親之義？答：是二大士豈不同入不二法門？今本為通佛教，隨其所關即用，何得定執？若分別界外結惑生死及諸行名義，當細尋天親；若觀門遣蕩安心入道，何過龍樹。但此經盛明疾義，未見諸經明文，若不取《地》、《攝》相映望者，他或謂非義理多端強說。

Question: Why do scholars of Nāgārjuna employ the doctrines of Vasubandhu? Answer: How could these two great masters not have equally entered the non-dual Dharma gate? Now, the original purpose is to clarify the Buddha's teachings; according to what is relevant, it is applied—how could one cling obstinately? If one discriminates the bonds, delusions, and birth-and-death outside the realm and the names and meanings of the various practices, one should closely examine Vasubandhu; if it is sweeping away through contemplative gates and calming the mind to enter the Way, what surpasses Nāgārjuna? However, this sūtra prominently clarifies the meaning of illness, which is not seen explicitly in other sūtras; if one did not take the Daśabhūmika and the Mahāyānasaṃgraha to illuminate each other, others might say that these numerous principles are a forced interpretation.
