6.132

「降伏眾魔遊戲神通」，三、明化他功成故可敬難。降伏眾魔者，降魔如前釋。但魔是所化眾生之主，若主不賓伏，民豈歸心？大士既能降伏十方佛土眾魔，則一切眾生無不歸信。遊戲神通者，民主既伏，是以神通變現成就眾生淨佛國土，其功廣大，一切下地莫之能類，故可敬難。

"Subduing the hosts of māras and sporting with spiritual penetrations" is the third [subpart], clarifying that because his work of transforming others is accomplished, he is worthy of reverent difficulty. As for subduing the hosts of māras, subduing māras is as explained before. But a māra is the lord of the sentient beings to be transformed; if the lord does not submit, how could the subjects turn their hearts [to the Dharma]? Since the Great Being is able to subdue the hosts of māras across the buddha-lands of the ten directions, all sentient beings unfailingly take refuge and believe. As for sporting with spiritual penetrations, since the lord and subjects have already submitted, he employs spiritual penetrations and transformations to mature sentient beings and purify buddha-lands; his merit is vast, and none of the lower stages can compare with him, hence he is worthy of reverent difficulty.
