問：何以令彌勒勸天子捨見？答：彌勒教其發心修不退位，不信餘人之言，故還令彌勒勸捨。

Question: Why cause Maitreya to exhort the devaputra to relinquish views? Answer: Maitreya taught him to generate the mind and cultivate the irreversible stage; [the devaputra] would not believe the words of others, so Maitreya is instead caused to exhort him to relinquish [them].
