8.81

「即時」下，二、明轉。即是轉故名為跋致。深達轉性如空叵得，依隨世俗二相不定，從空入假名字分別，得有轉義。文為四：一天自變為身子問、二身子以女像答、三天為解釋、四引佛語證。一、天自變為身子，轉身子為天女，而用身子像問者，即是上明神力為女，若不攝神力不可轉義。此表若業不轉凡女不轉，若機不轉應亦不轉。

From "At that moment" downward is the second [part], which explains transformation. That is, precisely because of transforming, one is called an avaivartika. Deeply penetrating that the nature of transformation is unattainable like empty space, conforming to conventional truth the two characteristics are not fixed; entering conventional designations and discriminations from emptiness, there is the meaning of transformation. The text has four parts: first, the goddess herself transforms into Śāriputra and asks; second, Śāriputra answers in a female form; third, the goddess explains; fourth, citing the Buddha's words as proof. First, the goddess herself transforms into Śāriputra and transforms Śāriputra into a heavenly maiden, and using Śāriputra's form to ask illustrates what was explained above: that being made a woman by supernatural power cannot be transformed if the supernatural power is not retracted. This signifies that if karma does not transform, an ordinary woman does not transform; if capacities do not transform, the response also does not transform.
