Question: "Seed" has the meaning of being capable of producing, which corresponds in meaning to impermanence. "Nature" has the meaning of being immutable, which corresponds in meaning to permanence. These two meanings differ; how can it be said that they correspond? Answer: That the conditional and revelatory correspond to the seed poses no difficulty. It is only that the direct cause corresponding to the seed seems to be discordant; yet, if one investigates its principle deeply, they do indeed correspond. Just as what is truly neither cause nor effect is spoken of as the direct cause, so that the non-causal nature is the direct cause nature, why should one not take the non-causal seed and speak of it as the direct cause seed?
