"And rains down amṛta": second is clarifying the preaching of the Dharma. Amṛta is the wondrous medicine of the gods; drinking it, one does not die. The Mūlamadhyamakakārikā states: "True reality is called heavenly amṛta; it is able to cause the three vehicles equally to attain the noble path." This amṛta of true reality is of two kinds: first, the true; second, the middle. According to whichever [truth of] reality sentient beings should be delivered by, they rain down that amṛta, causing each to attain benefit. These bodhisattvas merely preach the amṛta of the Middle Way true reality; according to whether [the listener's capacity] is skewed or perfect, what they attain differs. Therefore the Lotus Sūtra says: "The Buddha preaches with equanimity, like rain of a single flavor; according to the nature of sentient beings, what they receive differs."
