Question: Since all of the four assemblies were urgent in both precepts and the vehicle, why are there both householders and renunciants? Answer: Their inclinations of delight and aversion differ. Although both love the Buddha's Dharma, some take pleasure in shaving their hair and entering the path, while others take pleasure in white garments, their physical forms not yet renouncing [the world]; hence they are not equal.
