From "At that time" onward is the fourth [section], in which Śikhin cites what he himself sees to resolve Śāriputra's doubt. The reason the Brahmā King cites what he sees is that the people of the Small Vehicle doubted: although the Buddha spoke of a pure land, who has seen it? Therefore, the Brahmā King, tacitly knowing the Buddha's intent, cited what he saw to verify that the Buddha was not speaking falsely, universally giving rise to the wholesome root of hearing and believing among the contemporary assembly. The text has two parts: first, he refutes Śāriputra's doubtful thought; second, he directly adduces what he sees to resolve the doubt. The first part is easy to understand.
