Question: How does it also indicate the pure land of quiescent light? Answer: Since this sūtra takes the buddha-land as its essential principle, how could it not immediately indicate the land of pure realm? The dharmakāya is precisely the land; apart from the body there is no land. The land is precisely the dharmakāya; apart from the land there is no body. However, true suchness and true reality are neither wisdom nor realm, yet spoken of as wisdom and realm; they are neither body nor land, yet spoken of as body and land. Since it indicates the body, it is precisely indicating the land. Therefore the Vajracchedikā-śāstra says: "Wisdom practices mastery of consciousness-only; / thus one takes the pure land: / not the primary essence of form, / an adornment that is non-adornment." This sūtra says: "In accordance with the purity of their minds, the buddha-land is pure." Indicating the preaching of the true mind of true reality, how could it not indicate the preaching of the land of eternally quiescent light? However, the meaning of indicating the body is universal, universally covering the earlier general assembly, while the meaning of indicating the land is specific, specifically indicating the buddha-land.
