From "Entering the deep to sharp and dull": these eight lines are the fifth, praising the two wisdoms, like a worldly householder possessing deep wisdom. The first four lines directly praise, and the latter four lines explain the praise. "Entering the profound Dharma door" directly praises real wisdom. The real principle of the non-dual Dharma door is extremely profound and only the Buddha exhausts it; hence it is called the "profound Dharma." "Skilled in the perfection of wisdom" means reaching the shore and the depths of the other shore, praising real wisdom. The two lines "Thoroughly penetrating expedient means, accomplishing great vows" praise provisional wisdom. Provisional wisdom is skillful and able to accomplish great vows; when great vows are accomplished, the function of expedient means is achieved. The two lines "Clearly comprehending the inclinations of sentient beings' minds" explain and praise real wisdom. All sentient beings possess the Buddha-nature; everyone who has a mind attains bodhi, just as rivers flow toward the sea. The two lines "Furthermore able to distinguish the sharpness and dullness of the faculties" explain and praise provisional wisdom. Sentient beings' faculties differ in sharpness and dullness, yet he was skillfully able to adapt to their capacities to bring about awakening; this is expedient means.
