"Teaching and transforming... non-arising" is the third, based on the three gates of liberation. "Teaching and transforming sentient beings and giving rise to emptiness": contemplating the real truth of giving is the samādhi of true emptiness; to transform sentient beings and sever the accumulation of internal and external conditions, one gives rise to the four kinds of samādhi of emptiness of the four teachings—three provisional and one true. "Not abandoning conditioned dharmas and giving rise to signlessness": contemplating the two extremes of giving, one sees the correct path; this is the true samādhi of signlessness. "To transform sentient beings" is as in the preceding emptiness gate. "Manifesting the taking of rebirth and giving rise to non-arising": the two vehicles have no karma and do not take rebirth again, hence it is called liberation of non-arising. When a bodhisattva contemplates giving, seeing the purity of the One Path free from the karma of the two extremes, that is the true samādhi of non-arising. Through the power of the roots of goodness of loving-kindness, they take rebirth for the sake of beings; the provisional and real are as before.
