From "Moreover, Kāśyapa" to "the gate of" is the second [part]: explaining that bodhisattvas abiding in the inconceivable can bring practitioners to accomplishment. When those who follow the expedient and the beginners in the perfect [teaching] practice the six perfections such as giving, bodhisattvas abiding in the inconceivable often come to test them to make them firm. Just as the *Lotus Sūtra* explains that Śākyamuni on the causal ground was constantly brought to accomplishment by Devadatta, small bodhisattvas cannot do this. This is then revealed by means of analogies; the presentation of the analogy and the application of the analogy can be understood from the text.
