The nine lines from "practicing quiescent loving-kindness... to because it is like empty space" are the second [part], explaining loving-kindness in terms of true virtue of severance. For each and every phrase, one must first state that if one contemplates sentient beings, entering emptiness, one reaches the Middle Way; next, one analyzes and explains line by line. As for "practicing quiescent loving-kindness because there is nothing produced": if one sees the Middle Way of sentient beings, one sees all dharmas as fundamentally quiescent; because fundamentally there are no agitated marks of the two extremes, the quiescence of the Middle Way is true loving-kindness, which is the principle of true production being non-production. If one sees this principle, both extremes are severed; hence it says "there is nothing produced."
