From "manifesting in" to "birth-and-death," seventh, this explains manifesting the non-path of the two kinds of nirvāṇa to reach the Buddha Path. Above, the conditioned merits of the two vehicles were explained; now, the unconditioned merits of the two vehicles are explained—both are non-paths. Furthermore, above only the two vehicles were discussed; now the three vehicles entering the two nirvāṇas are included as well—all are not the Buddha Path. Apart from the manifestations of perfect, wondrous awakening, all the rest have the non-path of the three paths accumulated through unconditioned conditioning. If there are those who should be liberated by the extinction of the three vehicles, one manifests the three vehicles. As for "and not severing birth-and-death": the bodhisattva abides in birth-and-death out of great compassion, thoroughly realizing that the non-path of birth-and-death is itself the Buddha Path—how could it be severed?
